Academic Journal Monitor

Academic Journal Monitor is a live dashboard that tracks new work across a curated set of some seventy-five scholarly journals in sociology, criminology, political economy, social theory, anthropology, and political science.

It gathers recent articles — the last thirty days, by default — from the OpenAlex index and lays them out by discipline: title, authors, and abstract, with items published since your last visit flagged as new. A keyword watch follows a set of standing search terms across the wider literature, catching relevant work in journals outside the curated list. Articles can be filtered, starred for later reading, and exported as Markdown, and the journal list, keywords, and lookback window are all editable in the tool’s settings.

It is deliberately a reader’s tool rather than an interpretive one: no summaries, no ranking beyond recency — simply what has appeared, and where, gathered in one place.
